Private medical insurance
The British Vein Institute and our Vascular Specialists are recognised by all the major private medical health insurers for the treatment of symptomatic vein problems. Unfortunately, insurance companies have become progressively more reluctant to pay for varicose veins treatment in recent years. If you have difficulties getting authorisation, please contact us and we will be happy to speak with your insurer directly. When doing so, it is essential that you inform us of any contractual exclusion. Please note, cosmetic treatments, like thread veins, are usually not authorised by insurers, but a Colour Duplex Ultrasound Scan to rule out the presence of valve failure in larger deeper veins should be covered.
