Vascular screening

If you have a family history of stroke, aortic aneurysm or suffer from poor circulation; if you smoke, have high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol then you could really benefit from Vascular Screening.

Early Detection, using ultrasound, makes all the difference, is non-invasive, painless and cost effective. We use state of the art equipment and our staff are fully trained and accredited.

How is Screening Done?

How is screening done?

Screening involves using colour ultrasound imaging to look at the blood supply to the brain, the main artery running through the abdomen and the arteries supplying blood to the feet. This is completely painless. The report will be sent to you and your GP within seven to ten days.

Screening Report

Screening report

The report will tell you, if there are any problems with your blood supply to the brain, the main artery in the abdomen or the circulation to the legs. If there are problems, your GP can refer you to a vascular surgeon, or indeed you can come back and see one of our vascular surgeons.

If you do have a problem, then you will need to undergo a more detailed assessment of that part of the circulation and you will need to have a more detailed consultation. During the consultation the surgeon will be in a position to advise you on the best form of treatment, clearly explaining all the benefits and the risks.
